A heartbroken woman whose faithful dog went missing on a Scottish mountain in the summer has vowed to never give up searching for him.
Gizmo, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, disappeared when clouds descended on Beinn Ime as his owner Natalie Crawford took him for a walk on the mountain.
Since that day, on June 17, Natalie has lost count of the endless miles that she and others have clocked up searching for Gizmo, whose safe return carries a £5,000 reward.
As she set off today (Friday) to climb Beinn Ime, in the Arrochar Alps, for yet another search, Miss Crawford, 31, from Paisley, said: "We got separated near the summit of Beinn Ime when thick cloud came in really quickly and there hasn't been a sighting of him since, and his body hasn't been recovered either.
"I will never give up searching for him, this is another search before the weather turns then I will need to re-think searching options, but the truth is I don't think I will ever be able to stop searching as I need an answer one way or the other."
Appealing to the public to look out for Gizmo, who has distinctive nose markings, she admitted: "I've never felt pain like this before in my life, it's driving me insane.
"I haven't got kids and he is my wee boy, my whole life, I am so desperate to get him back."
Miss Crawford, who works as a project manager for the Scottish Ambulance Service, has had worldwide support in her quest, with an army of local volunteers joining in regular searches and donations towards the reward coming in from far and wide.
She said: "There are well wishers from as far afield as America, Australia, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain, I have had massive amounts of help from supporter,s but it's very possible he has been taken by someone who may not be aware of the campaign to get him home, I have been searching for his body too.
"I couldn't begin to even guess the hours and the miles that I and others have put into the search, I couldn't have done it all as one person, I took a month off work to search but I have had to go back. I have never stopped searching for him.
Gizmo, who will be four in December, was a rescue dog who Natalie fostered at nine months old before adopting him.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
