Samuel John Peploe at the Scottish Gallery

The Scottish Gallery celebrates the anniversary of Scotland’s first Modernist Samuel John Peploe this month, coinciding with his 150th anniversary. This celebratory exhibition includes many of Peploe’s greatest paintings featuring key loans sourced from notable private collections. Divided into four sections, visitors can explore still life works; paintings of his models; Fauvist panels; and his drawings.

The Spree Festival

Paisley’s popular music, comedy and arts festival returns with a bumper line up of acts such as The Twilight Sad, Arab Strap and Nadine Shah. The festival kicks off this week with innovative multi-instrumentalist Michael Rother. There’s a host of musical acts, across a variety of genres.

The Spooktacular 2021

The Spooktacular is a new immersive spooky event coming to Glasgow this October. There will be lots of activities including a rollercoaster, grown-up thrill rides, a festival wheel, Little Pumpkin rides and a scare maze. One of the main attractions will be Gandey’s Circus Spooktacular – a 45-minute circus show showcasing talented artists from across the globe.

Ben Fogle: Tales from the Wilderness

Join Ben Fogle for his uplifting show in which he’ll be sharing his stories of the wilderness. Ben has climbed Everest, been swimming with crocodiles, saved elephants, dodged pirates, been marooned for a year on an uninhabited island along with many other adventures. The much loved TV adventurer will recount his tales in this intimate evening of stories from around the world.

Krapp’s Last Tape with Go On

Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival

Tir an Airm

This latest exhibition from award winning photographer Alex Boyd, titled ‘Tir an Airm’ (Land of the Military) sees Boy, below, exploring the largely unseen places used to train the British armed forces and those of our NATO allies. The exhibition also features work from invited artist Mhairi Killin RSA, sharing pieces from her series Fata Morgana – an exploration of drone warfare testing in the Outer Hebrides.
