Casablanca Cocktail Club, Edinburgh

A late night playground of mystery, elegance and ostentatious luxury has opened in the capital this weekend. Only those who know (probably everyone now that I've exposed it) will experience the pleasure of Casablanca Cocktail Club. Hidden beneath an understated façade in Edinburgh's Cowgate, signalled by two red lights, lives an otherworldly den of unapologetic extravagance.

Inspired by Rock n’ Roll’s Bohemian past, Casablanca's carefully-crafted cocktail list rekindles fables of the most infamous hotel & fashion hedonism and food offerings include Wagyu Steak, Monkfish and 'The Versace' Burger. Casablanca is the brainchild of Mike Baxter who owns the neighbouring 'House of Gods' luxury hotel. IG: @houseofgodshotel

The Dipping Lugger, Ullapool

From the entrepreneurial family behind The Highland Liquor Company and The Arch Inn, in Ullapool, comes a brand-new venture; The Dipping Lugger is a restaurant and rooms with interiors by Eve Cullen Cornes and food by chef David Smith which is now open in a stunning location overlooking Loch Broom.

The 18-cover restaurant also features ‘The Tasting Room’; an intimate two table dining room that doubles as a gin sampling room, where guests can enjoy a dram of Seven Crofts gin, from Robert and Helen’s award-winning Ullapool distillery, Highland Liquor Company.
