A driver is in hospital with a "serious injury" after his lorry overturned on a busy Scots road.

Officers say they were called to reports of the vehicle on the A7 near Crude Hill in the early hours of Friday morning.

The driver, in his twenties, was taken to hospital.

The road has been closed to recover the vehicle, according to police.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to the A7 near Crude Hill around 3.15am on Friday, November 12, following a report of an overturned artic lorry.

“The driver, in his twenties, was taken to Borders General Hospital with a serious injury.

“The road has been closed to facilitate recovery of the vehicle and officers continue to liaise with the relevant partner agencies.”
