A TEENAGER has died following a fatal car crash in Ayrshire this week and police are appealing for witnesses as they continue their investigation.

The teenager has been named as 19-year-old Cameron Leith from Ayrshire.

Following a road crash which involved two cars on Wednesday morning, Cameron was rushed to the Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock and subsequently to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

He sadly died from his injuries in the Glasgow hospital on Friday November 19.

Police are now on the look for any footage which could assist them in their investigation into the incident.

Sergeant Craig Beaver, Ayrshire Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Mr Leith's family at this sad time.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and would ask anyone who has not yet come forward with information to get in touch with police.

“We're also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or motorists with dash-cam footage from around the time of the crash.”

The fatal incident happened on the B7045 at the junction with the B742, involving a blue Vauxhall Vectra and a blue Ford Kuga around 7.35am on Wednesday, November 17.
