Work is progressing to build Scotland's biggest ice-rink outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow.

Images taken yesterday and shared by events firm Itison show the foundations and part of the roof of the festive attraction are now place.

The outdoor rink is due to open to the public on December 2 and will be the UK's second largest.

The Herald:

Almost 40,000 tickets were sold in advance of construction work getting underway last week.

Itison founder Oli Norman said his vision for the winter attraction which will cost “significantly more than £1 million” was inspired by rinks in major cities including New York and Vienna.

The rink was designed by the company behind ITV’s Dancing on Ice and will be covered by a clear marquee roof, he said, to ensure skaters can “marvel at our most loved building”.
