Mr Mcilkenny, a senior football coach and teacher at the school, said: "No way my team talk was living up to big Ange's! A class act who took the time to shake everyone's hand and speak to the team before the final. A surprise visit and a moment none of us will ever forget."

Meanwhile, headteacher Sharon Watson, said: "Our boys were excited about the game anyway, having worked hard all year to reach the final, but the fact that Ange Postecoglou took the time to speak to them and pose for photographs meant so much and really spurred them on to victory!"

The school's PE department shared a photo of the boys and Ange on Twitter.

Staff at Jordanhill also shared photos of their team and wished them luck before the match.

They also praised the "great experience" for their pupils.
