A Maybole man awaits sentence for stalking his ex and leaving gifts in the night while in breach of strict orders not to approach her.

Steven Griffin, 50, is awaiting sentence for causing fear and alarm through his behaviour and breaching a non harassment order.

Court papers state Griffin repeatedly attended his ex’s home address in Girvan during the hours of darkness and leaving unwanted gifts between April 11 and May 4 this year.

Griffin, of Dailly Road, committed the offence while he was the subject of a non harassment order imposed at Ayr Sheriff Court on April 11.

The complaint states that both charges were aggravated because they involved abuse of an ex partner.

The case called at Ayr Sheriff Court on June 7, when sentence was deferred for a background report from social workers.

Griffin’s bail was continued and he will return to court at a later date.
