Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell has provided an injury update, stating he hopes to be back in action "after the international break".

The Englishman has not featured for the Ibrox side since picking up a knee injury against Celtic last month.

And he admitted the rehab process has "not been as smooth" as he would have liked.

Speaking to The Beautiful Game Podcast, he said: "The plan is definitely to be back after the international break.

"It’s not been as smooth as I’d have liked and I can’t make any promises but the plan is to be back and fit for the Hibs game."

Meanwhile, new Rangers boss Philippe Clement has claimed he is a "football animal" in his first interview since becoming manager.

The Belgian has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Ibrox club and is looking forward to fighting on both the domestic and European fronts.

He also detailed the important of implementing his style of play. Speaking to Rangers TV, he said: "Of course, I'm a football animal so I've watched all the games from this season in the last couple of days - it's been busy.

"I start to get to know the staff and then it's about aligning everyone in one story to be one strong family who wants to work hard to get results.

"We have four chances to win things, but it is really important that everyone is focused on the next game and not looking too far ahead. It is about building this story day by day, week by week to make the team stronger and to win trophies at the end of the season as much as possible.

"It is a marathon, not a sprint, so we need to of course implement day by day the way we want to play football, the way we want to work.

"We want to make players more fit and get injured players back because there have been some injuries this season also.

"There are some things to do but I am looking forward to it."
