Work is set to start next month to replace fencing at Girvan Cemetery.

South Ayrshire Council has appointed a contractor to start work in April, which will help to keep deer outside the boundary.

The local authority has confirmed that there will be no disruption to services whilst work is ongoing.

A spokesperson said: "We’ve appointed a contractor who will start at the end of April to replace the fencing at Girvan cemetery to make sure it is secure from deer.

"There will be no restriction for access and works will stop as required to make sure there is no disruption to funeral services."
