BUSINESS owners in Largs are being invited to a meeting with a team of experts to discuss the support, funding and advice that is available to them.

The event has been set up by the local resident who organised a public meeting in the town earlier this year following a spate of shop closures.

Heather Meldrum has set up a breakfast meeting for all businesses in Largs with officials from North Ayrshire Council's business development team.

It will provide an opportunity to discuss private issues on a one-to-one basis and ask questions or seek advice about support on offer, funding available and grants.

Hundreds of business owners and residents shared their often passionate views on the town centre's future at the public meeting organised by Ms Meldrum in March.

Issues raised at the event included high business rates, the need for more signage for shops outwith the main thoroughfare, accessibility of grant funding, and better support for businesses from locals.

The event - which includes breakfast - will take place on Thursday, May 9 from 8.30am until 10am at the Vikingar! centre on Greenock Road.
