One of Scotland’s leading hospitality operators has announced it will be opening its 21st venue.
Buzzworks has unveiled plans to open another ‘Lido’ café in Musselburgh this winter after the success of establishments in Troon and Prestwick.
The hospitality operator runs another 20 venues across Scotland including Scotts, House, Vic’s & The Vine, The Duke, Thirty Knots, The Bridge Inn, The Fox and, Herringbone.
The new 120-seat venue is designed by internationally acclaimed interior designer Jim Hamilton and will be serving up freshly prepared food from an open kitchen that features a custom-made pizza oven imported from Italy.
Lido will serve early morning breakfast, lunches, and casual evening meals, and will also include a bar and a semi-private dining room available for hire.
Kenny Blair, Managing Director of Buzzworks said: "We are absolutely delighted to announce the opening of Lido Musselburgh, our 21st venue, and we’re excited to bring the vibrant Lido experience to the town.
“Our vision is to create a welcoming space where people can come together to enjoy Lido’s signature blend of delicious food and drinks in a relaxed, stylish setting – all offering fantastic value for money.
“Musselburgh is a fantastic town with a strong sense of community, and we’re thrilled to offer a destination that everyone can enjoy and take pride in—whether it’s for a casual coffee, a family meal, or a special celebration with friends.”

The café, restaurant, and bar are also set to offer takeaway for customers, with a separate kitchen and collection point included in the plans.
Guests will be able to enjoy the bar area while they wait for their takeaway to be made.
The menu for both the restaurant and takeaway is to be Mediterranean-inspired and will offer hand-stretched Neapolitan pizzas, baked in the Italian-imported oven with San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte mozzarella.
It will also include authentic freshly made plates of pasta, steaks, Piri Piri chicken, and fresh locally landed seafood, all cooked on robata and rotisserie grills.
Kenny continued: “We're looking forward to opening this winter and joining the Musselburgh community. As we prepare, our goal is to become a welcoming spot in town with a menu and atmosphere that everyone can enjoy. We can't wait to meet our new neighbours and be a part of the local scene.”
Lido is now actively recruiting for all positions in the new venue, both front and back of house as it prepares to open this winter.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
