Motorists are facing delays on the M8 after an overturned trailer sent debris on the eastbound carriageway blocking traffic.
A trailer carrying rolls of turf tipped over near Junction 27 Arkleston Interchange around 1pm on Wednesday, causing the closure of two of three lanes on the motorway.
Emergency services were alerted around 1.10pm and work started to clear the road.
Drivers are currenlty facing delays of approximately 40 minutes and traffic queueing back to Junction 30.
Traffic Scotland tweeted: “RTC on the M8 eastbound at J27.
"Lanes 1 & 2 of 3 are closed as is the off slip due to an overturned trailer and debris on the carriageway.
“Traffic queuing back to J30. Delays approx 40 mins.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.10pm on Wednesday, 21 July, we received a report of an overturned trailer on the M8 eastbound near junction 27.
“The road is currently obstructed and uplift of the trailer is being arranged.”
