More than 3,800 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed by the Scottish Government — the highest number for more than four weeks.
New statsistics show that 3,876 fresh cases have been identified in the past 24 hours, more than 1,000 up on the day before's figure of 2,732.
However, the figures have been affected by an issue regarding data flow at the Glasgow Lighthouse laboratory, which may have temporarily increased the daily count.
Since Friday a further 20 deaths have been registered, taking the overall toll by the daily measure which counts people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days to 9,153.
Separate figures produced by National Records of Scotland, which tally the number of deaths where Covid was mentioned on the death certificate, put the overall total at 11,538 as of 24 October.
Yesterday's daily test positivity rate was 9.6 per cent.
A total of 926 people were in hospital with recently confirmed Covid, the same as yesterday, with 65 patients in intensive care, up five in 24 hours.
So far, 4,315,802 people have received their first dose of a Covid vaccination and 3,905,177 have had a second.
