ORGANISERS of MugStock have confirmed the festival will not go ahead this year, amid ongoing concerns around Covid-19.
While lockdown restrictions are easing, it is unlikely that mass gatherings of hundreds of people will go ahead this year.
The majority of outdoor music events have already been postponed across the country.
MugStock: a “Festival of Music & Merriment” had been due to take place at Strathallan Castle this September having already been moved from its original date in July.
It was to be the first time the event would take place there since moving from its original site of Mugdock Country Park near Milngavie.
However, organisers have announced that the next edition of the event will now be August 6-9, 2021.
A MugStock spokesperson said: "We can’t wait to bring you our best MugStock ever with a fabulous new layout, new features and our best-ever lineup.”
All tickets sold for 2020 have automatically been transferred to next year's event. However, those who will no be able to make the new dates, or could just use the money right now, can request a refund. Organisers say all those who purchased a ticket for 2020 have been emailed with full details.
Also, discounts afforded to age-related tickets will be honoured. A person who has an under-18s ticket for 2020 will be able to attend the 2021 event for the same price but can pick up an adult wristband on the day.
