Over the years I have used Lothian Region Transport (LRT) bus services only on a casual basis.
Only recently, with a family member in hospital, have I had to use them formally where times and routes were really important. On a wide permutation of journeys across several days there I found no faults in respect of timekeeping, publicity, driving standards or vehicle presentation.
Bearing in mind the horrendous problems created by tram works and the general high volume of traffic in Edinburgh, residents should consider themselves fortunate to have most of their public transport in the hands of such a competent operator.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
