John Mason is right to insist Scottish school children should be enlightened regarding creationism alongside other origin theories (MSP branded 'dinosaur' after creationism plea, News, January 25).

But he doesn't go far enough. It is true that creationism cannot be disproved by science. More compelling though is the compatibility of advancing scientific discoveries with the timeless truths of the bible. Hugh Ross, physicist and cosmologist, leads a team of scholars who demonstrate that faith is in line with scientific findings. Their work can be reviewed at

Good on John Mason MSP ( Sunday Herald Jan 25 ) for not only standing up for our Creator God but also for suggesting that our children and grandchildren be taught about their Creator( who loves them and all of us to bits.) What are the Scottish Secular Society so afraid of? That the children will "see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed."? Isaiah 6:10.
