ONCE again we read about the BBC needing more money to prop up its ailing services, with talk of the free licence for the over-75s being withdrawn. As it doesn’t cater for the over-75s there is no justification for penalising them and indeed it should consider giving discounts to viewers over 55 as the content aimed at them is almost zero. Instead it should reflect on what benefits BBC3 on the internet really provides for the community and act accordingly.
