TO Joanna Lumley’s agent who, I gotta feeling, has pulled off one of the most unexpected gigs for their client ever announced on British television.

ITV has hired the actress to host a one-hour “spectacular” to celebrate 20 years of the pop group Black Eyed Peas.

The show, to be broadcast this year, will “pay tribute to one of the world’s greatest groups”.

Not only did we not realise the Peas had been around for 20 years, or indeed were worthy of a “spectacular”, it makes us wonder why the omnipresent Lumley never mentioned her pop heroes at all during her Desert Island Discs appearance in 2007?

WHO said social media was pointless? A sushi bar in Milan is offering free meals to people with 100,000 or more Instagram followers. All they have to do is post and include a hashtag and a photo.

BRENDAN O’Carroll has made millions with his Mrs Brown creation but his new quiz show For Fact’s Sake has been described as “a concussed QI”. Which suggests it will be a huge hit.

ROSEANNE Barr should have accepted the news that TV producers had killed off her sitcom character. Instead the controversial actress claimed rank unfairness.
