MY daughter will be very interested in your article on the genetics of red hair (“Scientists unravel more strands in bid to unlock secret of red hair,” The Herald, December 11). You say two per cent of the world’s population has the ginger gene and further that a fifth of them live in Scotland. Two per cent of seven billion is 140 million redheads, a fifth of which is 28 million. No wonder ScotRail is having problems.
