I WON’T bore your readers with my thoughts on Brexit, Scexit or XR as there are enough correspondents doing that already. I am more concerned about what Brian Beacom does in his boxer shorts ("Le Carré is right – questioning loyalty isn’t disloyal", the Herald, October 17).

Once again he has blamed Marks and Spencer for his shredded shreddies. I am 57 and have worn M&S boxers my entire adult life. I have worn them Munro bagging, arctic warfare training, skiing, parachuting, and abseiling among other pursuits and they have never let me down. In short, my experience is so different to Brian’s I felt compelled to defend M&S.

Has Brian considered going up a size to reduce the stress on his seams?
