BRIAN Beacom’s entertaining article ("Never mind the b ****** s… swearing is good for you", The Herald, January 16) might have mentioned two TV shows which I avoid viewing because of their liberal use of the F-word. The first one is Mrs Brown’s Boys, which has the lead frequently cursing in order to stimulate cheap audience laughter. The second one is Scotland’s own Two Doors Down, in which Elaine C Smith is scripted to liberally utter the F-word to the detriment of an otherwise promising piece of writing. Come on, BBC, A clean-up would not go amiss.
