The weekend is nearly upon us, so time to indulge in some bacchanalian revelries. Though let’s admit it, no matter how much beer you guzzle - and chips you snaffle at the end of the night - you’re never going to have as much fun as this highly-tickled tortoise with an itch to scratch…
Tortoise shells have nerve endings and are sensitive to the slightest touch. This tortoise at Badger Run Wildlife Rehab loves to feel her shell scratched, so a kind volunteer made her a scratching device.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
