THE caption below the photograph from your Those were the days ... feature (March 8) reads: “A tram trundles past Glasgow University Union in this image from 1957.” Well, no, actually.

The two Coronation Mark II trams in the photograph are not doing any trundling as they’re sitting at the very end of the track at the university terminus. The crews would have been enjoying their lay-over time before returning via the city centre to either Mosspark (Service 3) or Arden (Service 14).

But I enjoyed the rest of the caption information. Please keep this feature going.
