ACCORDING to your headline, Glasgow has toasted its first malt in more than 100 years (March 9); not so. Strathclyde Distillery distilled malt whisky from 1957 called Kinclaith. This was owned by Long John Distillers, which had a maturation warehouse at Westthorn, London Road. Memories from a retired exciseman.
