TWO tory MPs have been snubbed in Boris Johnson’s cabinet reshuffle.

John Lamont and Andrew Bowie were overlooked by the PM, despite him leaving a vacancy for a junior minister in the Scotland office.

David Duguid left Government last week, however in a full list of ministerial appointments released today by No.10 he appears not to have been replaced.

On Friday, as junior minsiterial appoitnments were being announced, Downing Street simply said: "David Duguid MP has left Government – previously Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Scotland Office, and Assistant Government Whip."

Mr Bowie and Mr Lamont are the only Scottish Tory MPs who could realistically replace him, but neither have stepped in to fill the role.

David Mundell is a former Scottish Secretary and is not an ally of Mr Johnson, while Alister Jack is the current holder of the role.

Douglas Ross quit as a junior Scotland office minister over the handling of the Dominic Cummings affair, ahead of his election to Holyrood as an MSP.

He is also the leader of the Scottish Conservatives.

Iain Stewart MP, who represents Milton Keynes for the Conservatives, currently holds a second junior ministerial position within the Scotland Office.

No.10 could not say if Mr Duguid’s position would be filled again, however sources said there could be an announcement at some point in future.
