HOLLYWOOD actor Mark Ruffalo has backed a full-page advert in the Herald damanding that the US President reject all plans for new gas export terminals.

The Marvel star, who is a climate justice advocate, is one of the leading faces of the Frack Action movement in North America.

The campaign acts to protect water, air, and public health from the dangerous practice of drilling and fracking.

In the wake of COP26, Ruffalo called on the President Joe Biden to reject all new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminals and pipelines sitting for approval on is desk - highlighting the Herald advert.

His message was also directed to US delegates to COP26 such as Climate Envoy John Kerry, Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary Antony Blinken.

The politicial advert taken out by Frack Action asks President Biden and his staff if they 'would build 339 new coal plants in the U.S.?'.

It states that the answer would be no, but currently 23 LNG terminals and pipelines plans are sitting on their desks - the equivalent greenhouse gas emissions of doubling all exisiting U.S. coal-fired power plants.

The movement says that President Biden has announced new methane regulations, but his country is on track to become the world's largest exporter.
