GEORGIA'S hopes of springing a Euro 2016 upset against Scotland have been dealt a hammer blow after key duo Levan Mchedlidze and Guram Kashia were both ruled out through injury.

Empoli striker Mchedlidze - who scored as a 17-year-old when Georgia defeated Scotland 2-0 back in 2007 - is currently sidelined with a calf strain and the Serie A club yesterday confirmed that he will not be reporting for international duty ahead of Saturday's tie at Ibrox.

Kashia, meanwhile, is still in the process of recovering from a broken toe sustained in training last month and will not be fit enough to line up against Gordon Strachan's men.
