COLIN STEIN insists the manager’s voice should always be the loudest at any club following the suspensions of Ibrox stars Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller.

The pair have been banished from the club following a bust-up with boss Graeme Murty in the aftermath of Sunday’s Old Firm defeat to Celtic.

Rangers confirmed on Tuesday they had been suspended ‘pending investigation’ but neither are likely to play for the Light Blues again.

And Barca Bear Stein reckons the game has changed since he was under the guidance of Gers legends.

Stein said: “It is between the manager and the players. I know it my time at Rangers if there was an argument with Willie Waddell, Davie White or Jock Wallace, I think the gaffer would always win it.

“The boss has to get the respect of the players. He is in a funny situation.

“He is an interim manager and he has got to prove himself. He is in a difficult position.

“There is far more player power, and agents as well. Agents would never rule when I played football.

“I think it is in every work environment that you have arguments with your boss. But in every environment the boss always wins.

“Obviously you had to go up in front of the SFA but any problems you had were done within the club. I was a bit of a hothead at times but I would always take my manager’s word.”
