SCOTLAND cricket hero Calum MacLeod has been signed up by Derbyshire for their T20 Blast squad.

MacLeod was man of the match after an unbeaten 140 helped give Scotland the biggest win in their history over number one ranked England on Sunday.

And, just a day later, Derbyshire have moved swiftly to secure MacLeod's services for the Falcons' entire Twenty20 campaign.

MacLeod joins fellow Scotland international Safyaan Sharif, who took the final wicket at the Grange, in Derbyshire's ranks.

Scotland head coach Grant Bradburn will also link up with Derbyshire for the tournament.

The 29-year-old has scored 2,342 runs in 85 games for Scotland and has previously played for Warwickshire and Durham.

"Calum is a powerful striker and on Sunday showed what he can do on the big stage," said Derbyshire cricket advisor Kim Barnett.
