RANGERS have received an extra 6,000 tickets for the Betfred Cup semi-final with Aberdeen.

The Light Blues were initially handed 26,000 briefs at Hampden but that figure has now been boosted after slow sales from the Dons ahead of the showdown next Sunday.

Aberdeen had previously demanded a 50/50 split of tickets but SportTimes revealed how Rangers won a battle to ensure their supporters would occupy the entire North Stand.

Hundreds of Dons fans who purchased tickets for the East Stand have now had to be relocated to the South Stand after the SPFL slashed their allocation and took back seats to accommodate a larger Light Blues crowd as Steven Gerrard’s side bid for semi-final success.
