AYR UNITED took full advantage of Ross County’s surprise slip-up at Falkirk as they moved back to the top of the Ladbrokes Championship.

As the Bairns were held at Falkirk, Ian McCall’s side moved a point clear of the Dingwall side with a 3-0 win over Alloa.

Lawrence Shankland scored twice, a minute into the second half and in the final minute to take his tally to 12 overall with Alan Forrest also on target in 81 minutes.

It was an action-packed game in Inverness as Caley Thistle came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Dunfermline.

The Pars took the lead in 10 minutes when Myles Hippolyte pounced on a mistake by Brad McKay and picked out Aidan Keena, and the youngster on loan from Hearts slammed home in only his second appearance.

However, the Highlanders were level just 10 minutes later when Riccardo Calder ran through to score.

Back came Dunfermline and this time Irishman Keena fired them in front with a fantastic 35-yard strike.

But Caley Thistle levelled things up again in 34 minutes when Jordan White swept home a Tom Walsh cross.

Elsewhere, Morton secured a late 2-1 win in Dumfries to draw level with Queen of the South on 16 points.

Bob McHugh’s fifth goal of the season had Morton ahead at Palmerston four minutes before half-time.

Stephen Dobbie hit a terrific equaliser from 22 yards in 68 minutes when he capitalised on Gregor Buchanan’s poor clearance.

Reece Lyon though won it for Jonatan Johansson’s side six minutes from time.
