FORMER Rangers manager Mark Warburton has revelaed he was worried about unrealistic expectations at the club when he walked out to see the Ibrox crowd displaying a 'Going for 55' display on their return to the Premiership. Warburton said: "We walked out and got the shock of our life when we saw ‘Going for 55.’ That was an unrealistic expectation having just been promoted. We weren’t going to beat Celtic that year."

And Warburton also admitted that he would have loved to have the transfer kitty that his successor, Pedro Caixinha, had at his disposal. "I would have loved the funds that Pedro [Caixinha] spent straight after us, which was probably more confusing for us at the time," said Warburton. "But it's life and it's a stage of a club developing and coming back from where it had been."

Warburton has also said that he wonders why Alfredo Morelos "looks angry all the time on the pitch". The ex-Rangers manager said: "You’re watching and thinking that it would be nice to see him enjoying his football a bit more but you don’t know his background. People describe it as baggage but it’s a question of whether that temperament can survive in the EPL or La Liga. I’m not sure."
