Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was coy on being linked with the now vacant Leicester City post following today's dismissal of Claude Puel.

The 57-year-old parted company with the Premier League side after yesterday's 4-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace, the fourth successive home defeat this term.

Rodgers and Rafael Benitez quickly became the bookies favourites to succeed Puel.

"I was asked before the game on it and just after the game my position hasn’t changed," said Rodgers. "I think since I’ve been here there’s always been that.

"I’ve spoken to you a number of times on these things. My focus today was for Celtic and the players. It was very important for us to get three points today and keep the momentum going. Other than that I’ve got nothing to say."
