GARY DICKER reckons Kilmarnock's unsung heroes Stuart Findlay and Eamonn Brophy don't get the credit they deserve.

The pair have been hugely influential for Steve Clarke’s side this season as Killie have enjoyed a terrific campaign in the top flight.

Brophy endured a frustrating afternoon at Ibrox on Saturday as he was forced off just three minutes into the draw with Rangers with a hamstring strain.

But Findlay equipped himself well before a moment of magic from Alfredo Morelos saw him spin away from the former Celtic kid and fire home the equaliser to cancel out Connor McAleny’s opener.

Findlay has been capped at four youth levels for his country and was called up to Alex McLeish's squad for the upcoming double header on Sunday.

Brophy has turned out for the Under-19s and Under-21s in recent years as they have risen to prominence domestically.

Now Rugby Park midfielder Dicker has backed the pair to further stake their claims for a place in McLeish’s squad going forward.

He said: “I probably should have been across helping Stu out [at the goal].

“He is a good player. Stu has been brilliant for us and we conceded as a team.

“I probably could have been over helping Stu out sooner. But we will look at it and learn from it.

“He has been a great signing for us and probably doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.

“Same with Brophy as well - I see other strikers getting called up.

“’I think if you look at us and the consistency we show we deserve more recognition than we get. Look at the other players playing ahead of Stu as well. Why not?

“He has everything, he is quick, strong. He could maybe be a little more aggressive, but that will come.

“But him and Brophy are two young boys and the improvement they’ve had since the gaffer came in has been magnificent.

“I was here first time with Stu and he struggled under Lee Clark.

“He was a bit of a fish out of water, but it’s hard with your first loan and he has grown. He has developed and has got a hell of a lot better.”
