FORMER Rangers striker Nacho Novo thinks that the SFA judicial panel's decision to uphold Alfredo Morelos' yellow card for diving against Aberdeen is 'embarrassing' for Scottish football. "It annoyed me, and for me, if they think that is Alfredo diving then they must be drinking or something," said Novo.

And Novo revealed that he has spoken to Morelos and advised the Colombian to stay at the club for the next couple of seasons so he can continue to develop. "He made his name with Rangers, including with the Colombia national team," Novo explained. "So, he is going in the right direction."

Scotland captain Andy Robertson could miss this week's Euro 2020 qualifiers after being told he was unable to fly after receicing surgery on a painful mouth abcess. But Scotland assistant Peter Grant is still hopeful that Robertson will play. He said: "If it was anybody but Andy Robertson you would say there's no chance. But knowing the way Andy is, if he thinks he's got a chance there is always a possibility."

Should Robertson miss the Kazakhstan match, Celtic's Kieran Tierney is expected to fill in for the Liverpool full back.

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor said that he will use Scotland's upcoming qualifiers against Kazakhstan and San Marino to build up his fitness after the 25-year-old made his return to the Celtic first team during Sunday's 1-0 win over Dundee. "I just want to play," said McGregor. "It’s good now to get another few games before this big run in."

And Celtic's Oli Burke, who has been called up to Alex McLeish's squad, has opened up about the huge expectation placed on him for the national team after he moved to RB Leipzig for £13 million in 2016. Burke said: "The expectations and the weight that was placed on my shoulders at the time was a lot. But that’s just part of football."

Blair Newman has dug into Saturday's 1-1 draw between Kilmarnock and Rangers and taken a look at how Steve Clarke's side won the tactical battle at Ibrox.

Speaking after the game at Ibrox, Rangers defender Nikola Katic hit out at the Kilmarnock players, claiming the opposition "made bad fouls that was like rugby".

The Herald's Graeme McGarry fact-checked the Croatian's assertion, and discovered that Rangers have actually committed more fouls than Killie this season, but the Ayrshire club have one more yellow card to their name.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has spoken of the psychological advantage his players now enjoy as they enter the final run-in ten points clear at the top of the league. "We are not taking anything for granted but it’s significant," Lennon said. "Psychologically it’s huge."

And the Northern Irishman admitted he is feeling anxious with so many of his players away on international duty this week. "We have go a lot of players away so you are sitting on the end of the phone biting your nails," he said.

The £9 million that Celtic received in compensation from Leicester City when they appointed Brendan Rodgers means that the club will exceed their yearly financial targets. In a statement to the London Stock Exchange, Celtic said: "Because of this [Rodgers joining Leicester], Celtic now expects to exceed market expectations for the current financial year."

Arbroath manager Dick Campbell - who is on track for a tenth career promotion this season - believes that clinching the League One title this campaign would be one of his greatest achievements. "I’ve never enjoyed a season like this one," said Campbell. "It’s been special. The players have been magnificent, absolutely magnificent."

In rugby, Kevin Ferrie believes that Scotland have talented individuals that can help them progress at this summer's World Cup but reckons Gregor Townsend still has to address team fundamentals ahead of the tournament.

And in golf, Rory McIlroy revealed he is constantly looking to improve after winning the Players Championship. McIlroy said: "I think I can make the next 10 years even better than the previous 10 years. That’s what my motivation is.”

Elsewhere, the Scottish Sun are reporting that both Alfredo Morelos and Kilmarnock's Kirk Broadfoot could be in trouble with the SFA afer an off-the-ball incident at Ibrox on Saturday.

And Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn has told the Daily Record that Celtic captain Scott Brown has been a mentor and a role model for him.
