CELTIC defender Kieran Tierney has refuted a series of rumours that have appeared on social media in the last few months, saying that "you don't believe everything you read". Tierney was accused of dropping out of the last Scotland squad after a fall-out with the manager, a claim he categorically denies.

As the 21-year-old has been training to get back to full fitness, Tierney revealed that he's had some help from UFC superstar Connor McGregor. "Throughout my injury, Connor McGregor was brilliant with me," Tierney revealed. "I was still doing Celtic’s programme, but the little tips from him helped too."

And Tierney has defended his manager Neil Lennon's exuberant reaction to Celtic’s late winner at Dens Park on Sunday. "It’s passion and the fans and players love to see that," he said.

Neither Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos nor Kilmarnock's Kirk Broadfoot will have any disciplinary action brought against them by the SFA after the pair had a scuffle at Ibrox on Saturday.

Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck says he can't wait to play for his country and would happily represent Scotland, no matter where the game was being played. "I would play in the car park if I could get that chance," said Fleck.

Andy Robertson has been ruled out of tomorrow's game against Kazakhstan but is expected to return to the squad for Sunday's fixture against San Marino.

Sheffield Wednesday right back Liam Palmer has admitted he would be honoured to receive his first cap for Scotland against Kazakhstan tomorrow. "Obviously to make that step up to the first team would be a proud moment," Palmer said.

Rangers winger Eros Grezda has admitted that the thought of losing his place in the Albania starting XI has helped spur him on to be fully fit once again. Grezda said: "When I was injured and they [the doctors] told me it was serious, the first thing that came to mind is not to lose my role in the national team."

Grezda's team-mate Steven Davis has been urged by Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill to to put his Rangers woes behind him and to focus on doing the best he can for his country. O'Neill said: "Sometimes players need a little bit of time to settle in with their clubs."

France Football have published a list of their 50 greatest managers of all time and, unsurprisingly, the results aren't unanimously agreed upon. The likes of Fabio Capello, Jurgen Klopp and Diego Simeone were all ranked ahead of Celtic legend Jock Stein.

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill revealed that he is glad to have John Barclay available for selection, but inisisted that the former Scotland captain is not an automatic pick. "The thing is that he has to be good enough to get into the team because in his absence guys have stepped up," said Cockerill.
