WATFORD striker Andre Gray could spearhead Rangers’ bid for the Premiership title next term as boss Steven Gerrard seeks attacking reinforcements during the summer transfer window.
Gerrard has already clinched moves for Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie ahead of the new campaign, while Greg Stewart will complete a three-year switch once his Birmingham City contract expires at the end of the season.

Now it is understood that Rangers are considering an approach for Gray that could see the 27-year-old head across the border on loan.
The forward joined Watford two years ago for a club record fee of around £18million and he scored five goals in 33 appearances during his first campaign for the Hornets.
Gray has turned out 31 times for Javi Gracia’s side this term and netted twice in his last two fixtures against Southampton and Wolves to take his tally for the season to nine.
Rangers could now look to tempt him away from Vicarage Road during the summer, however, as Gerrard looks to add further firepower to his squad.
The 38-year-old will have a decision to make over the future of star striker Alfredo Morelos in a matter of weeks if clubs follow up their interest and look to strike a big money deal for the Colombian.
Morelos signed a new contract in March that tied him down at Ibrox until the summer of 2021 but the Light Blues could now look to cash in on their most sought-after asset after two successful seasons.
That would give Gerrard further funds to play with in the transfer market as Dave King and his board get set to back him and Director of Football Mark Allen once again.

Finding a replacement for Morelos will be one of Rangers’ top priorities and Gray is being considered as a possible target if the stumbling block of wages can be overcome.
Gerrard will almost certainly be able to call on the services of Jermain Defoe after he agreed a loan deal in January that will keep him at Ibrox until the end of next term.
But with Kyle Lafferty out of favour and seemingly set for the exit door after just one campaign back at Rangers, Gerrard will need further strength and depth for his second crack at the Premiership crown.
