Former Celtic keeper Pat Bonner expects Craig Gordon to see out his Parkhead contract despite losing his number one place to Scott Bain.
Gordon signed a contract extension with Celtic two years ago that ties him to the club until 2020, a deal that came on the back of interest from Chelsea in the Scotland internationalist.
Since the turn of the year, however, Bain has usurped Gordon as first-choice stopper at the club and there had been a suspicion that the keeper might move elsewhere in order to see out the final years of his playing career. Bonner, though, expects that Gordon will have an eye on the long-term as he sees out the last season of his Celtic contract.

Michael Walker: Spurs and Liverpool's progress more apparent than ever“He did remarkably well to get over his injury and in Europe I think he was a standout for Celtic,” said the former Republic of Ireland keeper.
“He has also improved and adapted his game in terms of building up the play and so on. But he has lost his place to someone who is probably better in that department. Would he be happy to stay as a no.2 at this stage of his life and after that injury?
“I haven’t spoken to him about it but he is 36 years old now. I would probably be staying around, I would. I think Craig has the possibility to go into coaching. I watched him a few times on the coaching courses when we were there and he has a great temperament for that. He also has a really good knowledge of the game so that is probably where he sees himself going.

I think he would probably stay at Celtic and hope to get another chance again. I’m sure he is getting half-decent money at Celtic because he signed a new contract a while ago and has another year left.
“If he was maybe a bit younger and being overlooked, I think he would be looking to get out somewhere. But at 36, I think he would be quite happy to have another season here and see where it takes him.”
