More than 6m people watched Emslie score against England
Scotland's World Cup opener against England was the UK's most watched women's football game of all time, according to the BBC.
Sunday's match attracted a peak of 6.1m watching on television and a 37.8 per cent share of the available audience.
Scotland made an impressive start to their campaign just losing out 2-1 in Nice to the world No.3 ranked side.
In front of a crowd of 13,188 at the Allianz Riviera, Nikita Parris put England ahead with a penalty following a controversial VAR decision and Ellen White curled in the second.
Claire Emslie pulled a goal back for Scotland with 11 minutes remaining.
Scotland face Japan next in their second Group D match on Friday at 2pm.
