Arsenal have reportedly placed a second bid for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney with the Gunners keen on the 22-year-old. It is understood that the bid is short of the Scottish champions' valuation, with some reporting that a bid below £25m will not be accepted. (The Times)

Arsenal are set to offer Kieran Tierney a 20m contract in a bid to lure him away from Celtic if an offer is accepted. Tierney has four years left on his Celtic contract. Everton are also keen on the left back. (The Sun)
Steven Gerrard convinced Joe Aribo to join Rangers
Steven Gerrard convinced Aribo his development would be better served at Rangers, with the Charlton midfielder expected to sign a four-year deal at the club. Rangers will have to pay Charlton £300,000 compensation under cross-border regulations. Aribo is expected to meet up with the rest of the squad at their pre-season training base in Portugal. Aberdeen did not receive Scott McKenna bid
Aberdeen say they have not received a £5m bid from Celtic for 22-year-old Scott McKenna, despite reports that a bid had been tabled. Club sources have denied any offer was made by the Glasgow club according to the Evening Express. (Evening Express)
Celtic have held talks about Max Lowe
Celtic have held talks about the possibility of signing Max Lowe, with the 22-year-old earmarked as a candidate to fill Celtic's left-back position. The Derby County player spent last season on loan at Aberdeen. (Various)
Jamie Walker to make Hearts return?
Wigan winger Jamie Walker could be set to return to Hearts this month in time for their pre-season training camp in Ireland. The 25-year-old could be set for a surprise return to Tynecastle – 18 months after quitting the club for Wigan. (Daily Record)
Celtic linked with a host of left backs
Unsurprisingly, the papers are rife with talk of Celtic signing left backs. The Mail reports that Celtic are considering a move for Rapid Vienna left-back Boli Mbombo, 23. The Sun reports that Celtic could sign free agent Milad Mohammadi, 25, as a replacement for Tierney.
Oran Kearney set to leave St Mirren?
Manager Oran Kearney is expected to leave St Mirren on Monday after nine months in charge. Kearney won’t be involved when the Buddies squad returns for pre-season training this morning. (The Sun)
Andy Halliday: Most confident I've felt going into a campaign with Rangers
Rangers cannot afford another season without a trophy, says midfielder Andy Halliday. He told The Herald "Celtic are still favourites for the title. They won the league again last year and had a bit of a cushion.
“But I can only speak from a Rangers player’s point of view and say it’s the most confident I’ve been going into a season.
