HEARTS will receive a portion of any future fee after Marcus Godinho completed a transfer to German 3.Liga outfit FSV Zwickau.

The 22-year-old still had a year to run on his contract but the Tynecastle outfit allowed him to depart for free in search of first-team football.

He has signed a two-year deal with Zwickau.

Godinho, who featured in three of Canada’s Gold Cup fixtures during their run to the Gold Cup quarter-finals this summer, made just 20 appearances in three seasons in Gorgie and had grown increasingly frustrated by his lack of opportunities.

Nevertheless, it is understood Hearts have inserted a clause which will see them receive a cut of any fee if his career kicks-starts in Germany and he earns another move.

Ambitious Zwickau finished in seventh spot in the German third tier last season but have aspirations to secure promotion in the coming campaign.
