ALLAN MCGREGOR: Reacted well to stop a far-post cross creeping in then spread himself well to deny another chance from a Midtjylland set-piece. No chance with Midtjylland first goal from close range or the second, for that matter. 6

JAMES TAVERNIER: Deliveries from right caused havoc, and no surprise to see the quality on the ball that he got across for Morelos to head home the opener. Was also decent defensively, although may be disappointed he didn’t get closer to Onyeka for the home side’s goal. 7

CONNOR GOLDSON: All the talk prior to the match was about the aerial bombardment that Rangers would face, particularly from set-plays, but Goldson and partner Katic showed they were up to that task. When the ball was on the deck though he struggled more though, and will be disappointed by manner of goals conceded. 6

NIKOLA KATIC: As mentioned above, stood up well to the aerial threat posed by the hosts and well up to the physical challenge. Topped off his night with a striker’s finish for Rangers third, but like Goldson, may feel the goals conceded were soft. 7

JON FLANAGAN: In at left-back for the disappointing Barisic after Saturday’s win at Kilmarnock and added some steel to that side. Was never going to be throwing in crosses from his weaker side, but passed the ball well and helped get his team up the park. 6

RYAN JACK: Acted as the fulcrum of the Rangers midfield and dictated the tempo of play. Used the ball really well and stamped his authority on the middle of the park. 7

GLEN KAMARA: The quietest of the three in midfield, but still effective and tidy enough in possession and put in a shift for the cause. 6

JOE ARIBO: Became more of an influence as the first-half wore on and really made his mark early in the second by busting a gut to support a Jones counter-attack and finishing in fine style low into the corner to double Rangers’ lead. 7

JORDAN JONES: Announced his arrival as a Rangers player. Great outlet on the left and got a couple of good early balls in. Brilliant run that turned defence into attack a sign of things to come, and when he did it again in the second half, he found the final ball to tee up Aribo for the second. 8

SCOTT ARFIELD: Decision-making let him down on occasion, particularly when trying to thread the ball through to an offside Morelos when presented with a great shooting opportunity. Picked up good positions though, and got his reward as he slotted home the fourth coolly. 7

ALFREDO MORELOS: Led the line well and was on-hand as usual when the first real clear-cut chance presented itself, making it look easy as he nodded Tavernier’s cross home to give Rangers the lead. Laid on the third for Katic and the fourth for Arfield too. 8

SUBSTITUTES:

SHEYI OJO: On for last 10 in place of Jones but didn’t get much of a look-in. 2

GREG DOCHERTY: Replaced Arfield to shore things up late on and put himself about. 2
