ALLAN MCGREGOR Saw a low effort from Mikael Anderson go narrowly wide of his far post in the opening minutes but had little to do for the rest of the half as Rangers dominated. Made a terrific stop from Gustav Wikheim and got a strong hand to an effort from Evander but the Brazilian denied McGregor a clean sheet. 7
JAMES TAVERNIER Rarely tested in his own half early on as Midtjylland failed to make much of an impression going forward. Typically keen to drive his side on in an attacking sense and was involved in a few nice moves but final ball could have been better at times. 7
NIKOLA KATIC The Croatian has risen to the challenge of Filip Helander and George Edmundson’s arrivals at Ibrox and continues to impress. A commanding showing at the back once again. 7
CONNOR GOLDSON It wasn’t a bad performance from the stopper, it just wasn’t a great one, either. Got caught a couple of times but he was solid enough overall, although he will be frustrated at conceding a late goal. 7
JON FLANAGAN Kept his spot at left-back as he looks to establish himself ahead of Borna Barisic and Andy Halliday. Had a few shaky moments but can be pleased with his efforts on the whole. 6
STEVEN DAVIS Has started the campaign in stunning form and this was another big performance to add to the Northern Irishman’s list. A cool head when on the ball deeper in the midfield but showed he still has that eye for a pass going the other way. 9
GLEN KAMARA Was a key performer in Denmark last week and he repeated the showing here. Composed and calm in the middle of the park and had an attacking threat about him as well. 8
RYAN JACK Midfielder has earned high praise from Gerrard over the last few days and he again lived up to the billing. Helped the Gers dominate the middle of the park with another accomplished performance. 8
SHEYI OJO Got another two assists to his credit as Morelos scored the first and third of the night and was in on the scoring act himself. Deserved his goal on a night where he was full of threat. 8
SCOTT ARFIELD Contribution for the second goal summed him up as he showed desire and skill to burst through the Midtjylland midfield. No goal this time but played a crucial part in the win. 8
ALFREDO MORELOS Scored the first, set up the second and scored the third. His performance was about more than the goals, though, as he again terrorised the Midtjylland defence. A terrific showing from the Colombian. 9
Substitutes:
GREG DOCHERTY (for Jack) Has to make the most of every opportunity he gets given the midfield competition at Ibrox. Another solid contribution. 6
JORDAN JONES (for Ojo) Was a key man in Denmark last week but had to settle for a spot on the bench here. Tested Hansen with a low strike minutes after his introduction. 6
JERMAIN DEFOE (for Morelos) On for the final few minutes but couldn’t add to his tally after his weekend hat-trick against Hibernian. 3
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
