ALEKSANDAR VUKOVIC will call on the help of former Celtic keeper Artur Boruc to aid Legia Warsaw’s Europa League ambitions - but only if they draw English opposition in the group stages this term.

The Poles face Rangers in the first leg of their play-off round clash this evening and will be cheered on by a sell-out home crowd.

Former Parkhead cult hero Boruc revealed this week that he hopes to return to Glasgow for the decisive second fixture next Thursday as Legia look to clinch a group stage berth.

Legia are currently eighth in the Ekstraklasa standings after winning two of their first four league games but they haven’t conceded a goal in continental competition this term.

Boss Vukovic said: “I think we will call Artur Boric in the group stage of the Europa League if we face a team from the Premier League. He has been in England. He hasn’t hasn’t been in Scotland for a long time so he wouldn’t be much help.

“I wouldn’t say we had nothing to lose in this game. We will be struggling to qualify for the group stage.

“It’s our goal and our dream so I can’t say we have nothing to lose.

“We will be playing against a very strong team, a legendary club. It will be an emotional game so I think it’s a good opportunity to test ourselves against such a great team. I hope we and the crowd will do our best and play our best.

“I’m sure the whole crowd and stadium will be with us.

“I know this club and our supporters are looking forward to this game. There has been some criticism at the beginning of season but now there will be less. It will be past. This game will not be an opportunity for criticism.”
