Greg Docherty looks likely to start for Rangers' colts against Ballymena in the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup.
The midfielder returned from Shrewsbury on loan for the start of this season but has found himself on the outside looking in at Ibrox once again as the likes of Steven Davis and Glen Kamara start ahead of him.
He was dropped from the Europa League squad for qualifiers and did not make the final cut for their Group G fixtures.
In a bid to stay sharp in case he's called upon later, though, Docherty has found himself playing with the kids as they bid to win the Challenge Cup.
And it's likely he'll play from the start as one of Gers' overage players against their Northern Irish opponents.
Albanian winger Eros Grezda is also likely to feature as both trained with the youngsters this week.
