OLYMPIANS Callum Hawkins and Andy Butchart will go head-to-head at the Lindsays Short Course XC Championships, which will take place in Kircaldy next Saturday.
Hawkins is in excellent form this year, having finished in fourth place in the marathon at the World Championships in Doha last month. And Butchart will be looking to rebound from his World Championships disappointment, where he was eliminated from the 5000m in the heats.
The event proves once again that cross-country in Scotland is booming, with 1363 athletes putting their names forward for the races next Saturday, which will see honours awarded at U15 and U17 level as well as the junior, senior and masters.
