SHEYI OJO is confident he can continue to play his part in the star-studded Rangers attack this term.

The winger couldn't get himself on the scoresheet against Hearts on Sunday but produced a solid showing in a comfortable win at Hampden.

Filip Helander opened the scoring for Steven Gerrard's side before Alfredo Morelos took his tally for the season to 20 with a second half brace.

Winger Ryan Kent made the third of the afternoon with a terrific run and cross and boss Gerrard was also able to call on Jermain Defoe as he came off the bench in the closing stages.

Gerrard has plenty of forward options at his disposal and Liverpool loanee Ojo is encouraged with the threat that Rangers are carrying at present.

He said: “The main focus was to show our own identity. It was about being aggressive, pressing and not panicking.

“Working hard is the key and then the talent shines through. In the early part of the game we worked hard but didn’t get the goal. Once we got the goal we just controlled the match from there.

"We could have got a few more goals. We are hungry to score more and kill teams off.

“Personally I was disappointed not to get a goal. But, overall I was just happy with the result.

“Ryan has come back into the side and done well. We have plenty of attacking options and Buff scored yet again.

“JD came in and helped the team at the end. There is loads of competition and that can only be good for the team.

"He (Kent) was here last season and did exceptionally well. He was a key player last season. I don’t want to so much as emulate him, but I want to show what I can do on a consistent basis.

“I want to try and get as many goals and assists as I can to help the team.”
