Daniel Stendel has taken charge of his first day's training as new manager of Hearts.

The former Barnsley boss was given a tour of the club's Oriam Performance Centre yesterday as he put his players through their paces.

Strolling around shaking hands with the first-team, Stendel appeared relaxed and in a jovial mood - despite any off-field controversies which have followed him to Edinburgh.
