PARTICK THISTLE are edging closer to completing deals for two players as Ian McCall looks to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window, Herald and Times Sport understands.

Dundee United forward Cammy Smith is rumoured to be a target for the Firhill club, as is Ross County striker Brian Graham, but the club are remaining tight-lipped about any potential transfer activity.

Smith, 24, came through the youth ranks at Aberdeen before moving to Tannadice on loan. Another loan, this time at St Mirren, followed before he sealed a permanent move to Paisley in 2017, scoring 10 goals in 53 appearances.

Smith rejoined Dundee United in January 2019 but has found game time hard to come by this season for Robbie Neilson's league leaders.

County forward Graham, meanwhile, has scored four times for Ross County this season upon the Highland club's return to the top flight and scored another two in the League Cup.

Thistle have already confirmed pre-contract agreements with Ayr United midfielder Ross Docherty and Queen of the South defender Darren Brownlie for next season, while Reece Cole's loan from Brentford has been extended until the end of the current campaign.

Osman Kakay was recalled by Queens Park Rangers at the start of the month, as was Livingston's Raffaele De Vita, while defender Ben Hall left Firhill after his short-term deal expired on January 1st.
